The topics of career orientation, training, studies, further education and skilled workers were the focus of attention in the Hessenhallen in Giessen this weekend. ‘As part of the 15th edition of Central Hessen's largest trade fair for jobs and careers, two new records were set: with 230 exhibitors and almost 7,000m² of event space, the fair surpassed all previous editions,’ explains project manager Vanessa Borgner proudly. More than 7,000 visitors explored, discussed or sought advice at the exhibition stands.
Parents with their children, young people, a wide range of age groups and schoolchildren with their class groups came to find out about careers, opportunities and prospects in the skilled trades, in nursing or in industry. As a result, there was a lot of activity at almost all the stands. But the programme accompanying the fair was also very well received: The sniffer dogs of the main customs office were a real visitor magnet, as was the Hessenmetall InfoTruck. The district craftspeople were also able to attract many visitors with an all-day programme in Hall 4.
If there were any negative things to complain about, then the missing voice after an intensive and successful day full of discussions, joked the Central Hesse Police Headquarters with a twinkle in its eye.
